Here's another 'World Class Guitar' built by The Stigg, now retired but has been making wonderful instruments for many years. When we have been fortunate enough to aquire these instruments, most have sold to existing Burst owners or mature collectors who have sold their Investment Guitars. The build — tooling — materials — feel — sound — are all from the late 1950s. Neck profiles are full size 1959s. You are welcome to visit us by appointment !!! This example has a very light subtle figured top, hence the yellow appears brighter in colour We would mention again, these guitars are no longer being produced. If you have 3 to 5 years to wait, join the other builders list - if you're not famous it could be longer.

Cornell Vintage Brown £975.00
The Cornell Vintage Brown 10 “Honouring the 80’s” Vintage refers to the 1980’s sound. Brown refers to the tone sought after by many guitar players of that generation. It is common for modern amplifiers to incorporate several valve stages to achieve high gain. This tends to reduce the response, colour the tone and suppress the player’s natural technique. By incorporating the guitar’s volume control as part of the amplifier’s preamp design this amp will deliver plenty of gain and still retain the guitar’s tone and feel. It works by having more than the normal amount of gain in the first stages of amplification. With the guitar on full there will be pre amp distortion, while turning the guitar volume down will clean up the sound. You can have a Vintage Brown 10 in a different covering. We have dozens available and some are zero cost extras. Or you might want a different speaker - maybe a Celestion Vintage 30.

About Plexi. Most of today's guitarists are aware of some amplifier history, and "Plexi" must be one of the best known nicknames for a range of amplifiers produced by Marshall from about 1963 to 1969. We have refined this fundamental design to its ultimate, tailoring the components and adjusting the circuit to produce the definitive Plexi sound. Back in the late 60s there were very few rock bands not using this type of amp, and still today this classic tone can be heard. The Cornell-Plexi amp has that instantly recognisable sound, and if you play rock, or simply want the Plexi tone, this range of amplifiers is an absolute necessity. Whether it is the 18/20 head or combo, or the 45/50 stack, these amplifiers are in the business of classic rock tones. Cabinet not included!

Cornell Romany 12 £1145.00
At a maximum of 10 watts, you won't be using it at your local gig, but the Cornell- Romany Plus is not small on tone. It will become your friend, a tool to create or develop your personal sound and playing style. The Cornell-Romany has a natural distortion sound that was popular in America back at the beginning of guitar amplifier design. Amplifier-makers at that time sold it to the Blues heroes whose technique has since become the classic distortion sound. The output is produced from a single valve, known as "single-ended class A output". The lack of cross-over distortion when the valve clips, results in the Cornell-Romany tone.

Cornell Plexi 7 Green £799.00 (1x10); £850.00 (1x12)
The Cornell Plexi 7 combo is a superb addition to the Cornell-plexi range. It will give you that quintessential plexi ‘Jimi’ sound but in a compact version that is small enough for your bedroom, and portable enough to sit on the back seat of your car and be taken to a rehearsal or studio. Miked up, you can even gig with it. With this classic British circuit as its starting point, Denis has captured perfectly the plexi panel classic rock tones of the 60’s. Don’t be fooled by its small size though…the mighty 7 Watts of valve tone may still be too much for your neighbours. To combat this, you can switch the output down in steps from 7 Watts to 1+1/2 Watts, 1/4 Watt or even 1/8th of a Watt! You will still get incredible output valve distortion, but at tiny volume.
The Cornell-Plexi 18/20 is made to the basic circuit of the PA20 Plexi panel which was produced in the 60s. Additional Cornell design features like the switchable valve rectification and power reducer are fitted as standard. Complementary push-pull class "A" output has been used in many renowned amplifiers throughout the history of guitar amplification. The problem with this basic circuit, which has remained common to all manufacturers with some minor differences, was one of unequal current flow through each output valve and unacceptable crossover distortion. At high output levels the problem is accentuated and results in a fuzzy sound. We have corrected the design and resolved the problem by balancing the output and reducing the crossover distortion. This results in a much smoother sound at high output levels, the output having very little crossover distortion. The difference can be seen and measured on an oscilloscope. We have encapsulated the components and called it the Cornell-Cream Box which describes the output tone. We now use this circuit in all of our complementary Class "A" push-pull output designed amplifiers.
Cornell Plexi 18/20 Head or Combo (1x12 and 2x10) £1180.00 (Head); £1499.00 (1x12 combo); £1499.00 (2x10)
